Actor Antonio Banderas has become the latest celebrity to express an interest in becoming a designer, with plans to study fashion at London'sCentral Saint Martins.
Banderas is following in the footsteps of fellow actor Brad Pitt and rapper Kanye West by declaring his intentions to move into design.
"There's something that I am going to do, I am going to study clothing design," said the 54-year-old Spanish actor during an appearance on UK chat show Loose Women last week.
"This is something that has been in my mind for a long time. Probably one of the best schools in the world is here, Saint Martins university, so I'm going to start studying with them," said Banderas, who is best known for his roles in films such as Evita, The Mask of Zorro and Shrek, as the voice of Puss in Boots.
"Of course I won't stop my professional life, I'll continue acting, directing and writing... but this is a new thing," he said. "I want the knowledge to take steps in that territory in the future."
Central Saint Martins confirmed that the actor will be undertaking a qualification with the institution, but will not join other students on the BA (Hons) Fashion programme.
"Antonio Banderas has met with Artscom at Central Saint Martins to develop a bespoke programme in fashion through short courses," said a statement from the university. "This is a service regularly provided."
Banderas is not the first celebrity to express a desire to study at Central Saint Martins, which has produced fashion designers including Alexander McQueen, John Galliano and Stella McCartney.
Kanye West has been linked to the institution on several occasions, and made frequent visits to former head of the Fashion Design MA course Louise Wilson, who died last year.

Brad Pitt demonstrated his interest in design by launching his ownfurniture collection and signing up architects including Frank Gehry and MVRDV to help his disaster relief charity Make It Right.
Musician Pharrell Williams, rapper Vanilla Ice and even astronaut Buzz Aldrin, have also dipped their toes into furniture design.
