I started my studies in Central Saint Martins when I was 18, in the year 2001, and I was in the foundation course. During the course, there were many different but all interesting classes varying from fine art, product design, graphic design, to theatre design, fashion and textile design, and jewelry design. Foundation students have to have taken all of these classes in a rotation of 2 weeks per subject, and by the end of the first term, students had to choose which class to specialize in for the rest of the foundation course. Not only do I think this gives students a wonderful opportunity to explore all different aspects of art and design, and it also lets youngsters have a good insight of all different kinds of design, enabling them to make the right choice and by letting them choose to specialize in one particular subject for the rest of the school year, it prevents them from going into what they aren't very interested in the future.
I very much enjoyed the time studying in Central Saint Martins whilst I tried all the classes, and learned how to use my creativity to the most. It was very exciting having the opportunity to try out things I never even thought I would be able to do. For example, I made a bracelet and a necklace, and I designed many outfits and theatre stages, which all are things I had never learnt, and never thought I would have a chance to learn.
To me, studying the Foundation course in Central Saint Martins has been the best experience of my life, because not only did I have so much fun exploring all different aspects of art and design, I also discovered my path and my future. It also really helped me become confidence and sure of my forthcoming career.

I came in contact with Cathy Lo from i-Link Educational Service through my careers counsellor. As a result of my interest in fine arts, and the possibility of continuing my art studies at university level, I attended a meeting with Cathy and a group of students where we were given information about art colleges in London. The information I received there encouraged me to apply to a foundation course at London College of Art, and the service provided by Cathy and the other members of staff at the office has been very helpful.
Through i-Link Educational Service, I was able to meet with a representative from London College of Art for an interview, which enabled me to show my work here in Taipei, instead of having to send it of in a portfolio.
In addition to organising a meeting with an examiner from the university, Cathy has also helped me in with the process of applying by giving me information about how to fill out application forms, and what to include in my application. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and I have never been afraid of contacting them when having questions or problems. As a student, I have been very well taken care of.
Though I'm not applying as an international student, Cathy has been more than willing to help me. The service provided by her and others have been great, and my experience with i-Link Educational Service has been very positive.
